We had a blast in Gatlinburg at the 6th annual Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival last weekend! My song FIFTY YEAR OVERNIGHT SUCCESS finished second in judges voting in its category. The judges were like a "who's who" of Nashville industry professionals. I was very happy to say the least!
I played a writers round with a great guy from Idaho; Matt Marsh. He is a great up and coming writer who had a song in the finals as well. He was making his first trip to the festival and he immediately became part of the family! Keep an eye (and an ear) out for this guy! Very talented and just a dang good dude! Best of luck to you Matt! Hope to see you next year and write a tune or two with you in the meantime!

It was great to see some old friends and meet some new ones! Very talented group for sure! Hats off to Cyndy Montgomery Reeves for another outstanding festival!
